Synopsis
Nearly all law enforcement agencies throughout the United States are requiring background checks, and, or polygraph examinations in order to be considered for employment as a police officer, corrections officer, federal law enforcement officer, firefighter, or EMT. Many applicants approach this screening process unprepared and fearful of providing incorrect answers that will lead to disqualification.
The Online Background and Polygraph Examination have been carefully formulated to provide applicants with practice questions that are most commonly asked on a polygraph test. These questions often refer to information that you provided on a background investigation or interview form that was completed prior to taking the examination.
The online practice examination will put you in the polygraph seat, exposing you to the same format that polygraph examiners use during an actual interview. It provides you with a fully interactive testing experience like none other. Through the use of computer-enhanced technology, you will participate in a simulated interview and polygraph test.
You will begin by answering 100 core polygraph questions. Additional, follow-up questions will be presented based upon the responses that you provide to core questions. You will be asked to respond to a question by clicking on either “Yes,”, “No,” or “I am uncertain how to answer the question.”
Along the way, you will come across pop-up “red flags” based on answers that would have raised suspicion in a polygraph examiner. Red flags are addressed directly at the time they are encountered. You will be provided with questions to expect based upon your earlier answer to a question. This feature contains over 600 additional follow up questions that could be asked of you during an actual background check interview or polygraph examination. You will only be asked follow up questions that are applicable to responses provided to your core polygraph questions.
Upon completion, you will be provided with a report on your polygraph exam results: at the end of the exam you may email yourself a copy of your test including all red flag questions, including ALL of the additional follow-up questions an examiner would have asked based on your response. You will be supplied with a report breaking down your responses by the ten categories that appeared on the exam.
What makes this tool extremely helpful is the 3rd answer-choice that is included for each question, entitled: “I am uncertain how to answer the question.” Because the online test is a learning device, we have provided this additional category as a way of supplying you with an opportunity to gain more insight into a question that may cause you anxiety and result in the show of emotional stress. There are 600+ additional follow up questions that can be activated, whenever you feel help is needed in order to answer a question. You should only select this choice, if you need additional advice to answer a question.
Our intention is to prepare you to avoid showing emotional distress, or appearing uncomfortable with a question because you didn’t expect it would be asked. Body language that shows you are nervous or anxious over a question will lead an interviewer down a path of further digging.
Questions on this test will be asked in each of the following polygraph categories:
• Motor Vehicle History
• Organizational Membership
• Weapon’s Permit
• Employment History
• Military History
• Financial History
• Educational History
• Criminal History
• Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling History
*Note: After your purchase, we will email you a user name and password so you can take the Polygraph Online Test.
