Synopsis
Diagram Memory Recall Questions
You are given a series of diagrams. You will have to look at these diagrams and
memorize what they are and what they say. A series of questions follow these diagrams.
Each question or incomplete statement is followed by several suggested answers
or completions. You will have to select the one that best answers the question
or completes the statement. There are numerous diagram tests throughout the book
that deal with memory, visual recall, and logic concerning the Deputy Sheriff
and Law Enforcement profession.
Inclusive Questions
There are inclusive dispatcher exam questions, you have to relate the information
given in a paragraph and answer them in accordance with the information given.
Passage Questions
A Law Enforcement scenario followed by a series of questions that deal with
that scenario. There are many questions throughout the book that has a scenario
passage that deals with some type of Law Enforcement scenario followed by a
series of questions. There are over 50 questions of the type.
Grammar and Vocabulary Questions
These questions consist of sentences which may be correct or they may contain
errors in spelling, grammar, or punctuation. You have to choose if the sentence
is correct, or has any errors in spelling or punctuation. These questions are
Deputy Sheriff and Law Enforcement related.
Best Answer Questions
There are many Law Enforcement and Deputy Sheriff exam scenarios with incomplete
statements followed by several suggested answers or completions. You have to
pick the BEST answer that completes the statement. All incomplete statements
are Law Enforcement and Deputy Sheriff.
Report Writing Questions
These questions are to be answered on the basis of a sample of a Police report
relating to a civilian complaint against a member of the force. The sample report
consists of fourteen numbered sentences, some of which may not be consistent
with the principles of good police report writing. Following this passage, there
are questions dealing with these inconsistent principles. There are over 25
Report Writing Questions that deal with different scenarios like the example
above.
Case Report Form Questions
These questions measure you ability to fill out report forms correctly and to
remember information and ideas. There are two pages with directions for completing
two kinds of report forms, a correctly completed sample of each form, and a
section from a procedures manual. You memorize the sets of directions and the
section from the procedures manual. You will then be asked questions about the
information and ideas in the manual and, you will be presented with completed
forms and asked to identify entries that are incorrect (contain wrong information,
incomplete information, information in the wrong order, etc.)
Incomplete Problem Questions
Each question or incomplete statement if followed by several suggested answers
or completions. You have to select the one that Best answers the question or
completes the statement. All Incomplete Problem Questions are Deputy Sheriff
and Law Enforcement related. There are over 100 questions of this type in the
book.
Most Nearly Questions
You are given a series of questions. Each question has one word. You have to
pick an answer which most nearly means the same as the word that is presented.
This tests your logic and understanding of words.
Reading Comprehension Questions.
These questions are intended to test your ability to read with comprehension
and to understand and interpret written materials, particularly legal passages.
You are given brief passage that has to do with some kind of law enforcement
scenario. You then have a series of questions that deal with that passage. There
are over 75 Deputy Sheriff and Law Enforcement Reading Comprehension Questions.
Scrambled Questions
You are given a series of scrambled sentences. You have to rearrange them in
proper order and indicate the letter choice containing the correct answer.
